Die Mitglieder der Fachgruppe Bioin­for­matik (FaBI) sind zur FaBI-General­­­ver­­­­­sammlung während der GCB 2024 einge­laden. Sie findet am 1. Oktober 2024 von 17 bis 18 Uhr statt und wird mit dem Vortrag des diesjäh­rigen FaBI-Disser­­­ta­­­ti­ons­­­preis­­­trägers eröffnet. Anschließend wird der FaBI-Vorstand über die letzten 12 Monate berichten und mit einem Ausblick auf die kommenden Veran­stal­tungen und Aktivi­täten schließen.

The programme of the German Confe­rence on Bioin­for­matics (GCB) 2024 (Bielefeld, 30 September- 2 October 2024) will feature 7 tutorials and workshops (on 30 September) that precede the three-day lecture programme covering the full scope of bioin­for­matics research.
Bas Dutilh (Jena University), Caroline Friedel (LMU Munich), Tim Hubbard (ELIXIR Cambridge), Johannes Köster (University Duisburg Essen), Luca Pinello (Harvard) and Lara Urban (Technical University of Munich) will give the keynotes.
In addition to the poster sessions and breaks, there will be ample networking oppor­tu­nities, including the confe­rence dinner, and a company exhibition to connect with industry repre­sen­ta­tives.
You can still register at early bird rates until 15 July 2024 and the submission of poster abstracts will close on 7 August 2024.

Die Fachgruppe Bioin­for­matik (FaBI) hat den FaBI – Disser­ta­ti­ons­preis für heraus­ra­gende Disser­ta­tionen im Bereich Bioin­for­matik ausge­schrieben. Neben einem Preisgeld von 1.000 Euro erhält der oder die Preisträger:in eine Einladung zur German Confe­rence on Bioin­for­matics 2024 in Bielefeld um die Forschungs­arbeit in einem Vortrag zu präsen­tieren. Would you like to present your latest results? The scien­tific committee invites you to submit abstracts of lectures and posters from data science, imaging, infra­structure & services, medical infor­matics, modeling, omics, single cell research, struc­tural biology, and other fields. The abstracts should comprise one page for a poster and two pages for a presen­tation. Abstracts that cannot be considered for presen­ta­tions can be subse­quently considered for posters; if corre­spon­dingly marked, they will be automa­ti­cally trans­ferred.

The abstracts for presen­ta­tions can be submitted until 6 May 2024, the submission of poster abstracts will close on 7 August 2024
